Can anyone recommend a lossless avi codec please? Something standard that should work with minimum of fuss would be great but not essential. :)

Well, there is AVI uncompressed.... HuffYUV should also do it in a more compressed manner. There's also MSU Lossless, which claims better compression than HuffYUV, but I think I have had it crash on me when encoding.

When I tried AVI uncompressed the files came out about 3 times the size of the original dv files, much too large for what we want to work with. HuffYUV has done a good job - thankyou for the recommendation.
