This is both a rendering and a MEL question so I have posted it in both forums.
I am having an issue where I am attempting to assign a shader to all geo in a scene.
I am getting a list of all "mesh" nodes and then selecting them and assigning my shader.
The problem comes with instances, where I get one shape node returned for all of the instances. When I then assign the shader to it only the first instance is changed.
I understand that instances can have unique shaders, but still cannot find away to assign the shader to all instances.
Listing the parent transform node does me no good as maya returns on the first parent not all parents of the shape node.
Any help much appreciated.
