I must be crazzy, The first crashable C4D ever.
I can even crash it on command, all I have to do is enable expressions and scrub the time slider.
Dose this happen to you?
If so, howd you fix it.:surprised

yeah... there seem to be a number of bugs with the early bird. but maybe you need to update your video card drivers? this has helped some people with crashing problems. for me on a mac that's not an option, but also it appears to not like some v7 plugins all that much, maybe try running without them.

Thanks but I don't think its a graphics card issuse, I have the latest anyhow.
Its just that this is my first C4D in any version and every one knows C4D reputation for being as stable as a rock, so I was quite supprised to see it crash on something as obviouse as enabling expressions, even if this is a first release.

it's not even a first release to be honest. the early bird is a beta, and it's not even the current beta from what i hear. it's an early beta put out purely for people to get used to the new features before the final is released. and normally c4d is as stable as a rock.

I just tried to crash mione and I had no problems what so ever. I opened the Mime example file and scrubed the time slider and no crash. Maybe you could post the file that causes th probelm or give some more details about what your expression is doing.

I've read on Usenet that there is a pirated copy of R8 Early Bird around that crashes in mocca.cdl whenever you scrub the timeline.

Please don't take this as an accusation of piracy, the symptoms just sounded similar...

The pirated version includes a fix for this so if it were pirated he wouldnt be having the problem... I also had that same problem with the final version until I screwed around with my drivers and the preference settings. A little late, just in case you didnt figure it out...
