Hi

I use 3ds max 7 with V-ray. In my testscene I have used the uffizi_probe HDRI in the skylight and reflection slots. Is it possible to get the groundplane to be pure white? Any answers, advise, tips are most appreciated.

Many thanks

Jaques

I dont use MAX but you can make your ground not visible to primary rays. If I remember well you can un check that in the properties of the ground object. When you render you'd get your subject with black backgound with a transparency in the Alpha channel. Open in your paint program(photoshop) and raplace the bg with plain white.

You can do that without rerendering the same scene. Just disable any GI or HDRI stuff and hide the floor and hit render then use the transparency from he quick render as a matte for the first one. Hope this makes sense :)

Can't you just give the ground plane a matte/shadow material?

That's a really nice translucent shader by the way.
