Well this one might cost a little bit, but I think many of the web based tutorials I've seen don't take animation into consideration while they build their faces. This CD tutorial (http://www.rafhashvideotapes.com/modelfacecd.html) shows not only how to make a face, but explain why it was done the way it was done for animation. The two other tutorials listed so far are good if you just want a static face; however, they will run into restrictions when animating. I would also recommend Jason Osipa's Book "Stop Staring" to a degree. Some of the techniques he uses are very good and I think in some ways are better at getting some shapes than the way I did it, but you might have trouble converting all of it to the world of A:M with out some other guide. I know your thinking great he's self promoting his own techniques for profit, but honestly I made the CD because I had Dozens and dozens of people asking me how I model faces for characters at Anzovin. Is it the be all end all of facial tutorials, probably not. I see several things I wish I had done slightly different, and a few things I would have fine tuned a little more on the final mesh, but the important principals on how the face should be setup and why are still there. Again I think Some of Jason Osipa's techniques when applied to what I show might get a final result faster, but to each their own. I like his mouth technique, and it follows the same basic principals. ;) Anyhow, its there if you want it.

Bill,
I have all the Anzovin's CD collection but your head's tutorial is one of my favorites. My x-mas contest entry (http://www.hash.com/imagecontest/Nov04/02.jpg) was modeled with your excellent techniques. Thank you, your tutorials are very important for my skills.

I have to agree, Bills Face modelling tutorial was an eye opener. I thought I could model a head - but then Bill shows you how to do it properly :-)
