Hiya,
although I've been always checking out cgtalk forums, this is my first post.
I am using Maya 6.01 for Windows with mental ray, and I am facing some problems with very harsh bluring effects using MR.
http://www.ghaleb.co.uk/dof.jpg
This file is 2 spheres (one gray and one green) rendered using the MR lens shader after applying it to the camera. after doing some research on the interenet, I thought it was a sampling problem. However this image is using the following settings:
Sample min: 1
Sample max: 3
threshold: 0.05 for all
filter Gausian 3.000 3.000
I get the same harsh bluring for ANY bluring effect (motion bluring).
What am I doing wrong?
even at sample max = 4, the problem is slightly better, but not good compared to the maya renederers bluring effects (which are awsome)
Cheers
