CGTalk - Upgrading question

hi :) im preparing to upgrade from max4.2 to max 5 at christmas time.

now i have a question because at christmas i am getting a new PC as well, that i intend to bring back to school with me..

i already have max4.2 on this PC i have at school.. i plan on using my new pc for work... and my old one as entertainment center (movis and such)
anyway... like most college we have a network at school.. i am not planning on installing the 5.o upgrade to my old machine.. but will i have to delete max from this PC before i install max 4 and then the upgrade 5 to the new computer.. since it is on the network.. will i get errors or something dealing with more 1 copy on network or something?

sorry i dont know much about networks and things.. only back in highschool a looong time ago.. all i know is my teacher was trying to run photoshop on network and it had problems because too it was on too many computers...

i just ask here so my transition is easy as possible :)

No, you can run both. You can also install max 5 on your old machine as a render node.

render node is to speed up rendering? is it easy to setup?
