comments please
i have nobody around here to give me any good advise except the public "he's looking great" and "how did you do that?" which i don't agree with.

Hey, it doesn't look too bad! Pretty damn cool for a first NURBS character. ;)
You might want to check out those strange polys around the chin - they look like 3-sided polys which often cause weird little pinches. The shape of the head is a bit strange too - it's a bit flat at the back (although maybe it's just his hair), and the side profile looks a bit odd.
I'd really be interested to see this guy animated.:D

Now - I am by no means a "pro".... But I can tell you what looks out of place to me ....
The shoulders seem too low.
There is a weird crease on the left side of his face next to his mouth.
The collar of his shirt should rotate forward. It shouldn't be parallel to the ground plane.
The creases in his pants at the crotch should be decreased (but maybe more numerous) and more around a 45° angle (or less).
His knees look a little bow-legged. Is this intentional?
I have been looking on this forum for a long time, and for your first character this is really good. I too am a newbie to 3d, so unfortunately I cant comment on how to fix these things. I'd be in the same boat as you!:)
Hope these observations help!

I'd say he looks pretty good. I would suggest tweaking at least one side of the clothing so that it is not exactly symmetrical. And I'm not sure, but perhaps the chin could be brought out a little farther. Could we see some closer shots of the face? Other than that, lets see some textures on that guy! Good job:)

thank you all for the comments! As a beginning 3d-er without physical support it's hard to teach yourself these skills, sometimes it's even frustrating :)
There is still a lot to do, i began with the head but began to working on the body so that i got a good feeling of the complete proportions. A lot of details must be added.
but anyway, here is a close up from the head, but i'm not totally satisfied with it, so i got a lot of tweeking to do.

... i am also not a pro, but for my eyes the chin is running away... or better: running into his head ;) Let it come out a bit more. And maybe also the lower lip !
If you change the things that rondo mentioned, it would look much more professional.
And maybe give him some breast-muscles his torso looks like a cylinder ;)
Keep up the good work...

thx, getting comments really motivates me!
i wrote down the comments and right now i'm busy fixxing it.
His sweater will be a thick / fat sweater and the guy is not a really a fatass so the sweater will coverup his little muscles i guess.
the knees are a little bowlegged because a denimjeans always takes a little of the shape of the knees when he have walked. Or is it better to fix this during animation?

ok now i see what you ment about the bowlegs, ha ha ha.
i used a picture of me for reference, and i have bowlegs :D :D :D
btw it's not intended to be a selfportrait or something so i'm going to fix it

here is an update from todays tweeking. i put in all your advise.
i'm curious what you all think.
btw what is the best way to stitch it all up for animation (blendshape + IK) because when i filletblend it and then start tweeking it updates really slow. I want to make several blendshape faces so should i stitch and then copy or first make all the faces and then stitch every copy?
btw2 the jackets will have some buttons on it, should i attach surface them, stitch them to the jacket or just group them?
thanks in advance

My suggestions for the face would be to bring the chin forward and the corners of the lips back. But nice job.
