Nice Model... Only comment, to give the car a little more of a heavier feel the suspension might give a little... it's a little to straight...
Or maybe I have no ides what i'm saying

Aha! there isnt a seat! or am i missing something?
Very nice. Great modelling there bernos. Very true to the real thing.
CHriTTer: The seat is very low in an F1 car. The red part at the top of the coickpit is where the head would be, so you can see, it is a tight fit. Just the angle of these posts make it look like there is no seat.

very good work!
the modeling is excellent. Don't F1 cars have slick tires (i.e. no treads)?
I like the material of the body.

That's only when it's dry. When it's wet that car would be oncontrolable and slip like hell! :insane: :argh:

modern f1 car tyres DO have grooves in them (even in the dry) was bought into the sport as a 'slowing down' measure.
again, looking very sweet :) would be nice to see the car with a different background, and even better would be a PR style unveiling scene they like to have =)

-What software did you use ?
Looks like a true ray tracer.
Lightwave? XSI?...
Maybe a little noisy, up the sampling on the arealights or final gathering.

theres no camber on those front wheels!!! lol, I'm a crazy F1 fan, and thats the only thing that stood out to me, fantastic work! texture job is perfect, IMO. it needs a scene now!
p.s.- camber is the slight inward tilt of the front tires to improve grip during hard braking/highspeed turns, for all you non car junkies.

Thanks to all!!!
To answer a few q's
This was done in Lightwave 7, straight out o' the box. Patch modelled from blueprints from a model kit I built a while ago.
I guess this scene was kinda an attempt to fake GI. The main prob with most normal "skydome" setups I find is the lack of specularity. To get around this I actually made EVERY surface reflective to some degree, and used reflection blurring as a substitute for the glossiness or shininess level. No spec on anything.... this adds a bit to render times, but Im finding that the results are more realistic. Still messing around with this technique.
Cheers,
Bern

Very nice work, really!
I love the reflections and the global color of the picture.
But now, maybe you could try to do a little turn around? :-)
