I was working on something for school but found a problem with my character. If you point a light at him the opposite side of him will light up. For example, if I pointed a spotlight at his back, his belly would light up. I opened up another file with just him in it and everything worked (and I was like yay!) until I rotated him. I still can't figure out a solution but I have narrowed down what the problem is, half of this stuff I don't understand, I hope this makes sense to someone.

He has two shape nodes, SufraceShape and SurfaceShapeOrig (I think because of the blendshapes). SurfaceShape is my character and SurfaceShapeOrig is an Intermediate Object. If they are rotated in different dirrections the lighting screws up, if they are rotated togeter everything is fine. When SurfaceShape is deformed by the skeleton SurfaceShapeOrig isn't so the lighting screws up. If I grab SurfaceShapeOrig and rotate it they both rotate and the lighting is fine but my skeleton stays where it was.

I think that somehow I need to get rid of SurfaceShapeOrig or make whatever happens to SurfaceShape happen to it to. Has this happened to anyone else?
