View Full Version : how to make texture projection wrap more then 360 degree?

is this prossible? i need to do a spiral decal on a mega shooter glass that wraps from bottom to top, i use the texture projection to place the texture on the glass, the problem is that it only allows me to wrap the texture 360 degree, but for what i need is not eough, is there any way i can wrap the texture more then 360 degree? i am very new to texturing, please enlighten me.

attached is a mockup sample that i have done to show what i want to archive. please advise, any help would be greatly appreciated.

One way is to use a cylinder projection that wraps just once. In your texture, create the spiral as a tiled image. The left and right sides tile with one another, so you'll get a spiral on the surface. See attached mockup.

:applause: great idea~~ thanks EricChadwick, just one more question, i have already created the artwork as one piece in illustrator, i tried to tiled the image in photoshop by using the offset tool, it dose work, but it have a very obvious seam, suggestion on how to make seamless tile texture for a spiral wrap?

what does your image look like that you're getting such seaming? There shouldn't be any sort of seams if you're doing it correctly. could you post your UVs, your uncut image, and your tiled version?
