Hi all,

I'am doing an animation in C4D/R8 and then I export the AfterEffect project with animated & dummy light in order to get sort of 3D tracking.

I 've discovered that I must bake the animation for the dummy light!!!

in AfterEffects I copy position keyframes from this dummy light into another 3D layer and .... IT WORKS!!

in AE another 3D layer follows the path of dummy light. GREAT!

but if I try to export a longer sequence from C4D/48 to AE, AE didn't recognize exported AE project.... (ie in AE when I do import file ... the AE project file didn't show up!
or when I open this long animation AE project AfterEffects HANGS!!!

So the question is : WHY IT WORKS WITH SHORT SEQUENCE AND NOT WITH LONG SEQUENCE?

Please HELP, I have in two days the IMORTANT DEMO in a big expo "SATIS" hold in Paris

thank's in advance,
Marek Doszla

what about importing in sections? does it have to be keyframed on a frame by frame basis for this technique to work? or can you clean up the timeline using the mocca timeline cleanup tool? it justs ounds like too much info for after effects to me. if you're using a mac with os 9 then up the allocation of memory to after effects.

Hi mdme_sadie,

Thank's for quick reply!

I come from AfterEffects "world".

Im very new to C4D/R8, but I did a huge step when learning it.

Tt is really great app for me.

I discovered that i have to bake in C4DR8, if not AE will not recognise exported AE project.

(I'm working so hard day&night for Satis demo, maybe I miss something).

Anyway your suggestion with memory is good, I'll try to boot on OS 10.2 and see if it will work.

I'm not shure by this time of the night if even I can exprt by successive short sequences, I think I did it , ie exported next short sequence after the first one but this didn't work, it seems I CAN ONLY EXPORT A SHORT SEQUENCES FROM BEFINNING...?

any ideas?

best regards,
Marek Doszla

Hi mdme_sadie and all,

I just rebooted in OSX and still have a problem, so the memory issue is no of concern!

must be a bug of /R8 or I miss something,

any ideas?

I have only one day left for my demo in Satis / Paris,

best regards,
