View Full Version : Synch-Test (WIP)
BASSit 02-18-2002, 06:03 PM Hi !
Another somewhat longer (60 seconds) test-clip of
my little "Rustbot" . . .
Itīs encoded in "DivX Mpeg4 Fast Motion" at a bitrate
of 6000 per second (Good Quality) and just 2,41 MB.
The link to the clip is one post down - donīt know why itīs not working together with an attached image :8
Any comments would be great.
Tschö
PS: Oh and here is a preview ;)

Test-Synch-Clip here !!! (http://www.image-identity.com/source/test_bot.avi)
Hi Bassup,
Well, your model's nice, but it seems that it looks a lot like something i have already heard about : Rustboy, a film by Brian Taylor. It seems that your model is "Ctrl+c Ctrl+v" of Brian Taylor model.
Or maybe this is a joke. Not sure.
Anyway go check it ! You'll surely understand...

Yeah, toma, youīre right ! I was thinking about a robot before i knew the project of Brian Tyler ! At this time i had a just the eyes ready... as i saw the great work of Brian, i thought i could make it better ;) (i donīt like the head of his Rustboy - thats just my taste)
Itīs really hard to get a material to look like rusted metal ! And because i donīt had any sketches of my Rustbot, i started to use his concept-drawings to finish my little bot...
During making these clips i learned the basics of IK and all that kind of stuff - so you are right, if you say itīs a "joke"
I donīt want to make a film about it - i just wanted to learn from this talented Mr.Tyler :D
BTW: Have you tried to build a bot like that ?

Hey, that's kinda cool. One thing though, the second part of the animation where he is walking, i really was hoping to see his legs and how you animated those.

...but the bullet-time scene needs definitly some more tuning !
Iīve a lot more action in mind but if i place to much enviroment in the scenes i got really loooooooooooong rendering-times. I think that the raytraced reflections eat all that time :(
Did someone know a better way to get a perfect reflection !?
