Hi, i did a tutorial 3dworldmag.com and tried to render it but it is taking aaaages to do so, 24 hours and it only got 1/4 the way :/ is this normal or is there something wrong ?

i uploaded my file to the net should anyone care to take a quick peek at it.

I'd say the reason it's going so slow is all the raytracing that's going on in there. Lots of layers of refraction and 2 raytraced shadows. To speed things up a bit, turn the ray depth down to what you only absolutely need and also turn off antialiasing in the raytrace settings. Use supersampling in your material instead of antialiasing. I find that adaptive uniform is the best "bang for buck" This will probably speed it all up a bit, but with all that refraction it's going to take a while. Maybe try turning down all the particle facecount too.
