Im new to modo and have been doing alot of tutorials i found aroudn the web. Right now im doing the digital camera tutorial found on the modo website. Everything has been running smooth besides one feature, the weight tool doesnt seem to do anything at all. When i select the weight tool and click in the 3d viewfinder it lets me drag but the handles dotn show up, my mouse just goes tottally blank and the measurement thing doesnt show up either. Now that im writting this im thinking that it might be my video card but if anyone has any other ideas waht it could be please let me know, thanks.

Select your edges you want ot weight.

Unless you have the advanced handles selected in preferences, you wont see any bar. If you look ot the tool properties, you will see the percent changing as you move the mouse.

If you haven't already done so, press tab.

All should be working now. :)

Also make sure the subdivision weight map is highlighted in the vertex map list.

Yeah, you *normally* have to select the subD weight map before you can set edge weighting, but that's why I wrote those three edgeweight scripts on my site. One is to automatically select the weightmap and put you in the weight tool, and the next one is to set the selected edges' weight to 95% in one click and the last is to set the selected edges' weight to 0% in one click.

95% and 0% are the two most used weighting values, so it's great to have access to setting those values in one click. No more selecting weight maps and you don't have to waste your time dragging to get those values.

Indeed, as setting them to 100% can sometimes cause odd shading errors.

Cheers.

You can use the 3rd Seneca's script to set any " edge weight" you want , without selecting any map.

One is set to 95% , one to 0% and the third one let you decide the value

Bye.
