View Full Version : reference pic to planes.?! (simple i kno)
MadManDan 06-20-2005, 03:40 PM It sounds so simple but yet I still found a way to screw this up. Ive set up my 4 images for reference, front back ect... but everytime I create a new plane I can never apply my ref image to the plane...
I go into 3dsmax7, I hit M
then I hit G, select my reference picture, I put the correct w and l for the plane... and after that I cant drag the material onto the plane... can someone explain to me why I cant do this?
Thanks.

:)
you're doing it wrong
Select an unused slot in the material editor, then click the little box next to Diffuse, select Bitmap and only then select your reference image. After that you can apply it to your object
If you still have problems, take a look at tutorials that came with max -- materials section

You can also use the Tracer script available here...

to automate the process.
