I'm trying to texture my dragon and I'm asking myself whats the best way to create a dragon skin?

since a dragon/reptile skin has those sheds (hope thats the right translation) it would be really much work to draw them.....so maybe there is a better way?

Helllo.

Heh... Just posted that without typing anything... heheheh... anyways, a while ago I created a low poly dragon, it was around 2500 faces If I remember correctly. Thats triangles baby none of this nurbs crap~ hahaha
So anyways, i textured it by getting pictures of lizards and crocodiles and the like and over using the clone brush in photoshop. This works pretty well if you put enough time into it, but depending on how big your texture(s) is(are) you might get sore eyes when you create every single scale... heh.

you can check out a render if you like~

hope that helps~:D
