View Full Version : How do I covert curves from Maya into Modo?
ArneK 06-20-2005, 09:40 AM I've got a Maya model with curves for hair. How do I export these curves so Modo can read 'em and export to Lightwave? The curves are to be used as a wig-rig for Sasquatch in Lightwave.
I've tried everything, but still nothing shows up in Modo. If I try to convert the pfx curves to polygons in Maya, and then export to a .ma file, Modo just crashes with a bang when I try opening it...
Help...

You could try to export the curves as illustrator files ( .ai ) - Modo seems to read these well.

I think you're out of luck in this case. You could try to export the points and then rebuild your curves in modo, though.

Yup, I admitted "defeat" so I made the wig-splines from scratch.
Exporting a few thousand points from Maya and trying to rebuild splines from those is kinda pointless (pun intended) ... :p
