lostpencil 02-18-2002, 09:58 AM Hi Folks,
Amazing art work in these forums. I humbly submit a couple of my most recent pieces:
Audi TT, modeled and rendered in Lightwave:

and the following quick animation test done using both Maya (animating) and Lightwave (modeling, rendering):

:D Thanks Gabe! Yup. The Audi has an HDRI image in the Environment setting.

Now thatīs great !!! I was about to start with an Audi TT by myself... iīve grabbed some reference images from the i-net and made the setup for MAX - so sometime this year ;) you will see a MAX-version of that beatifull car...
It would be very useful to see some more images of your work - show us the front and the grill/hood ! Maybe some wires or a non-perspective view from front, top and side ! I would appreciate this a lot :D
Edit: Oh, i forgot to mention that i love the number plate !! Itīs Potsdam (near Berlin) - nice attention to detail !!

Very photorealistic !
The reflection map doesn't look just crisp enough, though - you may want to use one with a higher resolution - just a thought.

Great work on both, nice HDRI render, hopefully people will start modeling something other than an Audi or VW soon it's a bit overdone. I must say though, yours is 1 of the best I've seen.=)

Hi Guys, thanks for the feedback and kind words!
Bassit: I'll get a couple of more images together. Attached are the images I used for reference.
Transcendent: I think it's because I had a post process blur on it. Or it could be the Radiosity settings. I'll take a peek.
Tbonz816: Yup, I realize it's overdone, but man what a great looking car. It's a tribute to the design engineers!

You mean the pinching of the image in the bottom right, right? Yeah, its the environment map. But I left it because it added to the composition - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

hmm yes good modeling of the car...IMHO though the materials rendering could use a little more work. There should be a little more variance I think...especially in the last pic, looks a bit monochromatic and a tad over reflective. Also the windows...
Good work overall though...a little tweaking would make this excellent
I like the animation, the poses look good. Only crit I have for that is when he reaches his full lunge pose every part stops quickly at the same time. Kinda like he was frozen quickly, breaks up the flow. Try to break up the keyframes there, so they all don't hit at exactly the same time.

Hey Guys, thanks for all the very useful feedback and kind words. I agree with underdog regarding the animation. It was basically just a test animation to see if my workflow between Maya and Lightwave was up to snuff. Thanks again!

Anybody who has the Porsche 996 or 993 blueprints of the carrera or the turbo?

You could check:
http://www.suurland.com
But I don't think they have the 990 series, but they do have a boatload of other specs.

Hey Malcom, thanks! Yeah, I plan on him fencing with his evil twin or something like that. Unfortunately there are only 24 hours in the day and I need at least 4 or 5 for sleep  !
