I am looking for a new video card on my 3.2C Pentium 4 PC. I am looking for card that is good for compositing and video editing as thats what I will doing on it( my dual xeon is the one I do CG on). I also have a Matrox RT.X100 Xtreme in the system too on an ASUS P4C800 E Dlx motherboard and it is suggested from Matrox I stick with a 128MB video card. Is it better to go with a professional card like the Quadro FX 1100 or a consumer card like the GeForce 6800. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

I canīt say that the opengl support in Afx. is someting fantastic.
What Iīve experienced, for Afx. a top level consumer card work as good as any of the pro 3d cards. I think itīs better that you put that money in some extra ram, and mabye a fast 15000 rpm drive, if you want to boost Afx performance.

No one knows how Afx 7 hardware support will behave when it arrives (except the adobe guys :) ) , but since Afx runs great on mac where ther are no "pro" level 3d cards available, I think you do fine with a 6800 like card if they start supporting hardware acceleration more, probably even better than with a pro 3d card.
