Hi everyone! I'm a total newbie in 3d modelling. I know that car isn't the best way to start modelling in MAX but I'll use it as an example of my problem:
When modelling car hood I want to make some sharp edges (for example one in BMW Z4 on the side of the car where BMW sign is placed), but when I Add smooth to my car, edges that were supposed to be sharp are getting round.

Hope that someone will understand my terrible eng. and will help me with this.

One word holds the key; chamfer. You're going to be needing this tool a lot to model a car in subd. I'd recommend browsing over a couple of generic subd modeling tutorials or car modeling tutorials to get an idea how subd is used in these situations.

As usual, the answer to queries on any of the things I mention is to enter them into google or your 3d program's user reference.

Cheers.
