hello everyone, i just completed building a flash portfolio page. please post any comments or critiques you might have. this is something that i am planning on submitting to future employers. i am still in college in my final year and thought it might be time to look for an internship or job.

here it is:
http://www.freewebs.com/punchmybucket/punch.swf

(you may have to copy and paste the URL to the address bar).

Nice and simple. Overall, three things stand out for me:

- If I were you I'd fix the width and height of the movie and embed in an HTML page rather than having a stretching SWF (which can be shrunk to tiny stamp size by the user).
- I would use actual thumbnails of the images, instead of the same image over and over. They could even be the same size, but giving the viewer a preview makes things flow a little easier I think
- You resume is a dead link

Other than that, it's shaping up pretty nicely.

What is your focus exactly? One sort of big change you may want to make is isolating JUST 3D stuff, or JUST photo, or JUST illustration; pick the area you would most like to work in and put your best work in that area up front.

Good luck!

I think its cool! I agree about the thumbnails, and I suggest... if your file size is still a decent size, to put higher rez images of your work... I think that would be good...

But yeah, great navigation, the sound fx... you might want to add a sound off option... but that is just a personal preference.

Good stuff!

thanks for the good suggestions and critiques. i actually imbedded the the swf into an html page. you can view it at http://www.freewebs.com/punchmybucket i think i may have also added some extra features since my last post. i created an enlarge button for all the images. i also added an audio section. i also fixed the broken link and replaced it with a "coming soon" page. : )

i agree that i should probably narrow it down, but since i am still in college and haven't really refined any particular skill more than the other, i think i would like to keep them all just to broaden my opportunities.

thanks again

yes.. it looks much better imbedded in html.. its was all pixel-ee just as an swf.
it might help to actually make it bigger.. or like jakiloblanco said.. add higher res images.. i had a hard time seeing them on 1280x1024 display..
