View Full Version : Newbie Question merging edges?
helicopterr 06-17-2005, 06:03 PM In maya there is a merge edge function but in modo there does not seem to be one. Do I have to make some changes to the bridge function?

I think you're looking for "collapse edges" in the Geometry menu. There's also a script on Vertexmonkey that seneca wrote that works on parallel edges

see the collapse edges just simply wipes all all the edges you have selected instead of concentrating them all into one edge.

In that case you probably want Seneca's script

Yep, it appears my script appears to be a lot more powerful than maya's edge merge. :)
My script:
1) It's for merging any # of edges or edge row(s) to the last selected edge or edge row.
2) Each row can have any number of edges in it. So you can merge a 5pt and a 7pt to a 3pt or whatever.
3) Selection orders don't really matter. You don't have to select the edge rows "in order" or anything like that. All that's really important is that the first edge you select will define the first "edge row" and the last selected edge row will be what the edges are merged to.
Maya's script:
1) It's for merging one single edge to another. :P
