Career Opportunity at Lancaster Archery in our Graphic Design/IT Department
An excellent career awaits a creative and energetic person with Graphic Design expertise and IT interest or experience for Desktop publishing using Adobe Suite software on PC to design, create and produce our magazine and billboard ads, newsletters, sales flyers and signage along with digital production of our four color catalog ready to go directly to the printer’s plate. Web Design involves working with our e-commerce vendor/partners including weekly updates and improvements in web and forum design, content and maintenance. Additional responsibilities include working with our IT support partners in ongoing set-up, maintenance and growth strategies for 25 user computer network and software including T-1 e-mail system.
Desk Top Publishing / Graphic Artist / Web Design Details:
Projects include: 240-300 page 4C Catalog, 4C Direct Mail Flyers, Web/Print Newsletters, National Magazine Ads, Local Newspaper Ads, Outdoor/Billboard Ad design, Web Ad Design, Signage, Creative input on all Marketing, Trade Show Displays, Merchandising and Branding.
Adobe Suite Software on PC including Photoshop, Illustrator, Page Maker
In-House Digital Product Photo Studio
Website- Linux based, server runs on MS SQL using OS Commerce Package; frequent use of HTML, PHP
Website is hosted by a local company but basic design and content is maintained in-house.
5000+ Frame per second Hi-Speed Slow Motion Digital Color Camera/software for ultra-slow motion photography of equipment or form in action; able to burn directly to HD/CD/DVD or for website use, etc.
Vinyl Plotter/Cutter and software for in-house production of vinyl graphics and signage.
Our Current IT System Includes:
IBM System Server running Windows 2003 Server and daily offsite BU tapes.
Windows SQL Database
Synchronics CounterPoint Business Software with Betrieve Pervasive Database (to be replaced)
25 Workstations using Windows 95/98/2000/XP
Laptops & Desktop PC's: 2 using VPN remote technology to work from home.
FTP/E-Mail on a T-1 protected by firewall
Laser and Dot Matrix Network Printers, some on print servers.
Lancaster Archery is also currently evaluating Business ERP Software Solutions to build infrastructure capacity and increase internal efficiencies.
We are in the semi-final stages and will make that decision in the next 30 days for implementation to go live in the fourth quarter of this year.
The leading software solution candidates are currently E-Cometry(Delray Beach, Fla.) and Windows Navision Software from iCepts in Middletown, Pa. These are very powerful and complete, full featured ERP software solutions that will integrate all functions and multiple sales channels around a single Windows SQL database so that any item entered into the ERP system easily transfers to the website or out to the Desktop Publishing software for use in our catalog. We are currently cleaning our existing customer and item databases in preparation for the data conversion into our new ERP software solution in July, August, September with the goal of going live during late October/November of this year.
We offer an extremely competitive compensation package including; a generous Salary or Hourly Wage, Medical, Life and Disability Insurance, SEP Retirement Plan with 100% LAS match up to 3%, Paid Holidays and Vacation, flexible schedule and outdoor/archery equipment discounts.
