I've seen them at SIGGRAPH over the last several years... Pretty neat technology. I'm curious to see if they've resolved some of the issues with the unit that they were having trouble with.

If I remember right, the gizmo that spins to generate the image would become unbalanced and would start to flicker the image after a while. Also, the bowl itself would warp after a while as well.

We've seen what happens when a CD breaks while spinning.

What would the damage be if this flew apart while going full speed ?
