Could be one of a million different problems, but it looks like your copy of Cinema 4D has become corrupted. Try re-installing Cinema first.
Just noticed you have already reinstalled Cinema.
Try these:
Move all plugins out of the Cinema 4D plugins folder.
Do a full virus scan.
Run Cinema 4D by itself without any other applications running.
See if you have a "System Restore" point dating eariler than when the problem started.
If all else fails you will need probably need to re-install windows.

Never in R8 to R8.2, but with R8.5 to 9.012 I had the same problem. Occasionally, sometimes within an hour, sometimes within several weeks, as soon as I clicked anything that had to do with materials, Cinema hard crashed. A reboot of the machine was the only way to recover. Restarting Cinema only didn't help.
I did report this to Maxon several two or three times. They couldn't repeat it but they assured this should be fixed. A few poeple here had similar issues as well.
Since 9.101 and now 9.102 I have never had the problem again. So install the latest Cinema and it might be all there is to it.
Cheers
