Hello all!

My short film, 'Einstein's Cat' is finally showing on the web!

It was created using Maya, Lightwave, After Effects and The Beaver Project.

You can view it by going to the films web site at: www.einsteins-cat.com and click on 'Watch Film'. (Check out the gallery page while your there!)

Or you can go directly to it at ifilm:
http://www.ifilm.com/ifilm/product/film_info/0,3699,2451686,00.html

I would recommend a fast connection to view it or it might be very sloooow.

Enjoy!

Dave

i enjoyed that. Finally a cartoon movie that was mean't to be rendered in cartoon. If you did that entirely by yourself i commend you.

However, while the fact that one cannot go over the speed of light can be derived form e = mc^2, there is a more obvious equation that i forget which forces the equation to a be a division by zero when the speed of light is pluged in, some relativity equation. Anywho that prolly wouldn't have worked for your story, as e=mc^2 is more well know.

congrats again:beer:

I always find it depressing when films are shown on ifilm, it appears as a complete slideshow similar to reading a comic strip. I had to switch it off after the first 30 seconds in case I could see it at some time in the future how it was intended to be run instead of being ruined by seeing it on ifilm.

Very nice short m8, but imho some parts of the animation are to slow, f.e. the cat opening and closing his eye's and the police man with the sirene comming out of his hat......if you speed up that animation i think it would be more cartoon then it allready is, if you look to the WB movies of the looneytunes you can see that some parts of the animation are really fast, like some caracter fals down, he hangs in the air for a couple of seconds, but when he fals it looks like the gravity is 10 times stronger.

anyway, this is really great stuff, you got some serious skillz dude!!

pretty good overall. I would recomend putting it up in some form other than streaming for those that don't have broadband.

cute story. classic toon humor, streching, etc. but at times the voices were really hard to discern esp. while the voice in the speaker of the ship was moving. :)

Relating two frames of reference in special relativity theory involves a gamma factor, which is 1/sqrt(c*c-v*v). In general relativity, it gets more complicated. Anyway...

Very good for a one-person production. The timings need a little tuning, as already noted. Also, the storyline relies pretty heavily on the voice... most slapstick-style cartoons tell their story with body motion and facial emotion. I felt kind of disconnected during the scene in the kitty litter factory... all of a sudden two new characters pop up and are gone, with no relation at all to the beginning or title of the cartoon. So that's my critique.
