View Full Version : force maya to draw arealight shapes?!

hi all.
I write a domelight-script which will create pointlights that will be converted to mentalray arealights. after all lights are created only the last light that's created is actually showing the arealight shape in the viewport. to make the other arealight-shapes visible I manually have to select the lights in the viewport (select command wouldn't do that). it wouldn't be a big deal, if the rendering results won't differ - but they do. without the arealight shapes visible the lights behave differently. I tried several select-functions and refresh functions, but none of them seem to solve the problem. anybody have any idea?

found it. updateAE on every light just does the work light...
