ok... I have a series of tiff images that I rendered out from Maya at 720x480, with pixel aspect ratio of 1.0
i then bring these frames into Premiere (6.5) to assemble them. Premiere project is set to the "Standard 48kHz" DV - NTSC settings (720x480, Pixel Aspect Ratio = D1/DV NTSC (0.9)). I then export the sequence as an uncompressed Quicktime file (again at .9 and 720x480)...
everything is fine up to this point. the exported .mov file looks great.
I next start a new composition in After Effects (NTSC DV, 720 x 480 preset with .9 PAR). i import the .mov file, which still looks fine if i preview it from within AE... BUT the second that I actually drop the quicktime file into the AE composition, it looks terrible - edges especially look very pixelated.

so, does anybody have any suggestions? or any idea what i am doing wrong here? I am assuming that it is some step between Premiere and AE - either my output settings from Permiere, or the composition settings in AE.
any help would be much appreciated. this is driving me nuts.
