good start, its a tough clip to do, but let me put in my 2 cents:

I really like the movement when he says "excuse me", nice movement and gesture.

however I really want to see more of his face, its mostly just pointed down at the ground all the time after that. I know that when you are infront of a big audience, its natural to not look at them and you tend to stare at the floor, but it makes it hard to read what he is thinking because we can't see his eyes at the least. Maybe raise the head just slightly, if not, then just have the head down for a shorter amount of time.

the other thing that bothered me was the little shake he gives the award. I think the shake is a good idea, but change it up a little. Maybe rather having his hand just move on the translation, do a more of a rotation, keeping his wrist from moving, just rotating. It will loosen things up. Also I think that pose could be a little stronger, his left hand (the one not holding anything) doesn't help the siloette. Maybe have it either to his side or bring it across the front and have it sort of open palmed and pointing at the dirction of the award so it directs the eye. It just doesn't look natural to have it hold in that same region though out animation, express a little more with that hand at that part.

I like the last breath, most people would skip over that, but it adds the whole life part.

Other than that you did a good job. A non-animation tip, I am not sure if this is your final render or anything, but for a good animation job that you have done, put some more time in to the rendering, such as the lighting and shading, it will add a lot more I dont' really like that red rim light. Just doesn't match the colors in the scene. Play around with that a little more and it will make your character stand out really nice!

Anyways, thats all I have for now, I hope that helps and if you don't agree, thats fine, just telling you what I see or maybe give you some ideas. Lookin good, almost there!

Keep up the good work,

Scott

Great feedback Scott, Thanks for taking the time to do that, I really appreciate it.

I agree about the head tilts, I actually got that comment before, and about the lightning, haha , I know, I guess it does look a bit amateurish, what would you suggest?

Thanks again.

i would try to search like on googles images search for some award images, like academy, or oscars, and see what you can find so see how stage lighting looks.

usually when you are on stage, its pretty bright and hard to see the audience on most cases, so a few strong spot lights to face the caracter and some good fill lights to bounce up light from the floor, a good shadow as well to cast onto the background would mimik a actually spot light too. Pick a good complimentary color of the light to the background image. If you want to keep that blue curtain, then have a nice orange rim light just slightly around the character to pop him out. Just lots of tweaking I guess

Lighting takes time so I dont' know how busy you are, but just grab some reference online and study what you are going for.

let me know what you think

Maybe angle the camera a little more... the center of attention (award) seems to get lost in silhouette, it also seems that most of this hand movement is out of arc (just a lateral up and down, moving with the hips/shoulders) -- until he holds the trophy out (which is a nice arc, with good ease-out). His back is a little stiff, especially when he holds the trophy out -- I'd like to see more of a line of action extend through his body with that significant movement -- heck, you could even exaggerate and have him *really* hold up the trophy.
