hello, this is like my first real post here. there are so many talented people here that i felt a bit intimidated posting anything. anyways, did this for a friend, and it was really good practice for me. this was my first real attempt with using photo reference in a drawing.. not my usual style at all :) there are faults, but i'm happy with the outcome. Comments and help are welcome! i want to build some variety in my skills since i usually draw anime/manga style.

still have to practice lots!

KAMUI?!? AAA! The end is near!!! .... ok ok... don't kill me.

THIS is your FIRST attempt at drawing with reference? fantastic! It looks so real... hehe... I love the effort you made in doing the fur... must have been tiring, ne... And the details of the mouth are goood....

maybe next time, when you draw retrievers, you could make their eyes a little bigger... they naturally have very gorgeous eyes... so it would help to make the picture more appealing... :D other than that, I just think his snout is a little too large...

Keep it up man!

This is a really nice pencil drawing...something looks a little funky around the nose, but I can't really place what it is. The detail on the mouth is great, as is the area around the eye. Your pencil technique is really nice...it looks rich:rolleyes: You should definately do more and post them:beer:

The detail in the fur is pritty damn sweet! you really know how to 'stroke' it. excelent pencil work :) plus dogs are the best :) my opinion...
