CGTalk - Max 7 to 6?

We are using Max 6 SP1 at our office but one of our clients will be using Max 7. Since we have a freeze on software upgrades for the rest of the year and can't upgrade to is there a way to save out Max 7 files to Max 6? This is besides saving the models out to 3Ds or some other format.

I've seen a few posts regarding a script but don't know if this for these versions.

Any ideas?
