I'm looking at a visualisation project that could be done with aerial filming and then compositing the 3d and at the moment it looks like I could be trying to matchmove a 3d bridge onto a filmed land/seascape over long takes, maybe 2 or 3 minute shots.
I've only done matchmoving on short pannned shots with Icarus in the past, and it's always given a solid track. Is it likely that I'll be able to get a good track on such a long shot, with the vibration and all?
I'd be hoping to have the filming done by an experienced outfit, with a stabilised camera mount but I've no real experience of using manual tracking points, and I'm really looking NOT too shoot it as video if I'm setting myself up for a nightmare here.
