I donīt have a concept for the image so i picked up a name by chance. Hope it catches atention, hehe... Just making this image as a painting practice and maybe a future part of my portfolio.
Hope i have a good result on this one, since itīs the first image iīm making to be more than a simple sketch after i bought the tablet. Iīd like to thank everybody at DSG, cause itīs the place to be if you wanna learn.
By now, itīs sketched in Painter and cleaned up in Photoshop CS.
Hope to get a lot of crits and comments.

it looks very nice so far, the only critic i can give to you is that you need to work a bit more on the anatomy ; fix the hands
shading looks ok so far , that red light thingy its not in perspective with the head
also that belt around his chest doesnt look right either its not following the shape of the body
hope it helps

Yes... You are right Magnetos. The anatomy is a bit strange.
My doubt is: Should i ignore that and keep on working on the painting, trying to reach the goal of getting a good rendered character without the lines? Or should i go back and fix all the problems i see on his body and them start to paint again?
Since the begining, the idea was more of a "not worried" drawn and a carefully made paint... Them again i would like very much to have a good paint at the end of this practice.

well its up to you really , if you like comic style then leave the lines
if you like the realistic approach then remove the lines
at this point i'd rather go for the comic style because of the anatomy and perspective errors it wont look that nice
my suggestion to you is to pratice anatomy and perspective a little more, take a piece of paper and a pencil and try to draw things
use reference pictures , remember copying its ok but once you become good at it try drawing from your mind and then you compare with the reference picture ,its very important.
most of the time what your mind sees its not as detailed as you think ,thats because normally we dont need to memorize details just concept and symbols
on the other hand you can simply go ahed and finish your piece after all art is supposed to be fun if not its not art its work :)
hope it helps

Ok. Here is some smudge and colors layers to blend a little more the paint.
I donīt care much about the anatomy in this specific piece, since itīs a color study, iīll leave this worry for another drawn. What iīve been thinking is to take of the lines and keep on painting, so itīll still look like a comic dude but on a more pictorial look.
And iīm thinking also about the background... What should i do? (...)

yes qwe is right but maybe the camera is tilted a bit over ,if it is so then anything else you draw should be tilted also
you do the same mistake i do ,most of the time i draw a character and then the background and i know its wrong , yes ,for a good composition its always best to draw background first then foreground or both at the same time if you can or at least sketch the all thing it first
what can i suggest youfor te background ? ummm yes put a horrible monster trying to eat him, or a beutifull girl trying to chocke him , or perhaps something simpler , a graffiti wall trying to swallow him ? why do i want him dead? gotta go see my shrink now have fun
:D
