Job Title: Technical Director

Department: Programming

Division: Visual Effects

Primary Objective:

Oversee and take responsibility for all aspects of technical developments for the company and for specific individual projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with VFX supervisor, CG Supervisor, R & D Department, 3D and 2D Supervisors and VFX Producer
Assist in all technical details of a sequence in terms of creating, production, pipeline, delivery and rendering
Create solutions for technical problems using scripts, workarounds, or other applications
Create shaders, tools and plug-ins for Frantic Films
Test production techniques to assist the facility in terms of technique, quality and speed
Assist in the training of a pipeline and standard procedures (e.g. for float 32 file usage, Cenion conversions etc.)
Ensure that every step of the pipeline is completed in the most efficient and technically superior manner (modelling through to rendering and delivery)
As an artist at Frantic Films this person shall be active in beta participation, as time permits, and provide input into technical details of film capture, on set tracking, shot tests etc
