thats pretty cool. I thought it would be something dumb like some guy proposing to slap an extra ten bucks onto all games consoles for cancer... But yea, I like their idea.

Yeah, it's a great idea. Hadn't heard of Folding@home but getting it now.

I guess I should have used a different title... looks like not many people are reading this. Its an incredible idea. Almost any computing task could be done very nicely using this theory. I assume many people see the title and ignore. O well there loss... I am sure someone else will post this with a good title and there will be a lively discussion. Until then, farewell to curing cancer with your PS3

Could you imagine if they did implant this in all next-gen systems? You're talking about millions of consoles over the span of its life crunching numbers on the off-time for the benefit of mankind. They talk about it in the article something of about 300,000 computers working about 1000+ days to unlock a code. Imagine millions of consoles around the world working the span of their life cycle...:thumbsup:
