I'm currently working on a key vacancy for one of the UK's biggest and most well known Games Developers.

My client is searching for an experienced Technical Artist to take full control of this area. You will be working on several major, bestselling franchises.

Your will be responsible for:

Liasing with Artists and Programmers in several studios to resolve art related technical issues.
All current and next generation projects (Xbox360, PS3, Revolution and PC).

The successful candidate will have the following:

A history of producing quality 3D artwork.
Knowledge of MEL scripting to a very high level. Experience of MAX/VB/J scripting would be advantageous.
Excellent knowledge of Maya. Any experience of other 3D art packages would be an advantage (3D Studio Max, XSI etc).
First class problem solving abilities relating to art tools.
The ability to liase and work alongside Programmers and Artists to devise solutions to technical issues relating to art.
Many years of commercial experience in the games and/or Film industries in a similar role. Games experience would be a major advantage although it is not vital.

This is a key role for my client and attracts a high degree of responsibility. The position is full time and onsite in the South East of England. Salary reflects the importance of the position and will be toward the upper reaches of what you would expect for the games industry.

Please contact Tom Champion at Probe Games for full details on this opportunity.
