View Full Version : My best wip yet
Seppuku05 06-14-2005, 09:18 AM I am a newbie, and well, some of you may have seen a little of my other, and it was crap, as you can all agree, but here is a Work in progress which is quite a personal achievement, if any would give me any c&c I would really appreciate it.

Well, since you are a newbie, try using some photos for background to use them as a guide line. One for the front and one for the left or right would do the job! It's hard to remember the human face's analogies and distances by heart if you haven't done it a lot of times! Especially if you want to make a specific face.Keep on it !

The topology is a little nasty, so I don't know whats going to happen to the mesh after doing this.
You need to bring the bridge of the nose closer to the face (in line with the lips and chin).
Keep the eye socket where it is.
You may survive after this, but you still need to practice on topology (trust me, it took me a while before i got something remotely organic).

Thanks for the comments, I will practice the topology. And I did us a referance, but I generally don't like showing the image with the wireframes, because then it is easier for people to comment on the geometry.
Oh and I've finished the head, will start on body, but I've still got exams, so maybe I'll start that on friday.

Wow...your character's jawline practically extends all the way back to the head :D As far as aesthetics is concern, if the hair covers it then it shouldn't be noticable, but for learning's sake, try to make the polygons flow as close to the skeletal and muscle structure as possible.
overall shape looks OK. The eyelids need to go around the eyeballs and the eyes are too far apart.
And yes, modeling it with some reference images in the background would be the way to go.

Thanks, will try to do that, I'm gonna see if I can get subdivision surface modelling done, I don't think my version of Cinema 4D has it, haven't seen it, but someone suggested silo

with the test hair (Which I did not post on this forum) people said made her look like Micheal Jackson....sooo....I may as well make a Micheal Jackson animation out of her, just need to make a few alterations:) Maybe doing the moon walk or something, or on trial putting his handing in front of the camera
