View Full Version : duplicate symmetry
patconnole 06-14-2005, 04:35 AM I've built the left leg and arm bones, but when I "duplicate symmetry" to create the right side, the newly created bones are rotated/offset a bit. Anyone run into this? I've got a chain up vector for each of 'em, which are children of their respective chain roots, and include them in the "duplicate symmetry" command. I want symmetry, and I'm not getting it!
thanks

Try freezing your transforms first before duplicating I've seen that help alot of my duplication problems

freeze mesh, and set the "null pose" for bones and Rig affectors. You wil find "neutral pose" butt under enveloping menu .)) ... and one last thing, have all selected when you duplicate symetry. Select in duplicate window: "root.." and "constraints" (sorry do not have XSI here, so cant tell you exactly what is written on window)

thanks for the help!
I position contrained the effectors to some implicit cubes, then duplicated, and it worked.
