View Full Version : Apple painting
rcg3d 06-14-2005, 02:13 AM Hi,
I haven't been painting in Photoshop that much, so I decided to try something basic to get the idea. Here is an apple I put on my desk and painted. Comments, suggestions and critiques are more than welcome. Thanks.

Okay, I get to crit first...That apple for a start looks mighty good as the basic.
But the thing is...that line in the middle horizontally...is bothering me. I think you either get rid of it...or show the intention that it was sliced like that....with juices flowing from it and the apple out of alignment with its bottom half.
And the stem area...is not believable. I know there is supposed to be depth and hollowness to it...to show that's where the stem is. And the stem itself needs tuning. It needs more texture.
So far so good...keep going at this...simple as it is...

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate your crit! Actually the slice in the middle of the apple was suppose to be a reflection of the desk below. I wanted it to be a semi shiny apple, but maybe it's not reading that way:(
Also, I hear what you're saying about the stem, and you're right. needs work!! I hope to post more soon. Maybe I'll add a mutant worm or something to make this thing more interesting B)
