View Full Version : Using Photoshop 5.0 with Windows XP?
windhoverhill 06-13-2005, 07:07 PM I recently got a new computer with Windows XP Professional. I have been running Photoshop 5.0 on my old computer with Windows 95. Can I use 5.0 on my new computer, or do I have to upgrade? I'd rather not if I don't have to. How about all of my old plug-ins?
Thanks for any help!

I wonder... although I did find this:

Personally I really think you should upgrade if you ask me. After 5, we had 5.5, 6, 7, CS and now CS2, that's 5 (!) vesion later and things have changed immensly since PS5. But I guess it also depends on how serious you are with Photoshop.

If you like Photoshop 5 then stick with it, just get Artizen ZE HDR (29.99 US) and HDRShop (v1 Free for non commercial), and then you will be able to create image files in all color ranges, without spending $700 or more really for what, espically if you have been fine with Photoshop 5 up until now. Software is just a tool to meet YOUR needs not Adobe's.
colour management didn't settle down until v7
