Motion System Programmer

SCEA's advanced hardware technology and online backbone enables game developers to unleash their full potential and continually set new standards in interactive entertainment. 989 Sports Studios in San Diego are the developers of the company¹s sports line up. This studio is working to build the next level in sports game development.
989 Sports is seeking a candidate to work with a wide range of technologies in our advancing online game development. (Full-time position).
Responsibilities:
The New Animation/Motion System Programmer will work on an existing code base associated with an existing, successful sports title for next generation PlayStation®. Programmer will answer directly to Animation/Motion System Lead Programmer. Responsibilities will be assigned on an as needed basis, and will include such things as off-line Microsoft Windows based tools for animation content creation and manipulation, Kaydara MotionBuilder exporter and plug-in work, in-game animation technology enhancements and support, and R&D into next-gen animation techniques. New Animation System Programmer will not be expected to build an entirely new system, but rather to enhance an existing system as part of a collaborative effort with the Animation/Motion System Lead Programmer and the Animation/Motion System group.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of C/C++ experience.
* 5+ years of game industry programming experience, however, 2+ years required at same job/company.
* College degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, or other related field (or equivalent real world experience).
* Solid real-time animation system programming experience.
* Experience with plug-ins and/or exporters in an animation and modeling package (Maya, Filmbox, Kaydara, Motion Builder, Softimage, 3D Studio, etc).
* Experience with advanced animation techniques (inverse kinematics, physically based motion simulation, motion synthesis, etc).
* Experience with real-time physics programming.
* Strong understanding of modern computer graphics.
* Strong understanding of math (particularly 3D graphics math, linear algebra, etc).
* Able to follow directions as well as work independently.
* Team minded individual who understands the importance of being on schedule.
* Hard working, industrious, innovative, etc.
