why wont my particles render?

You're probably using Maya's hardware particles.

Maya's manual explains this in the particles chapter.

Are you using, hardware or softwre render?

If you are using software render it should be fine...if hardware...well,...sometimes the particles just disappear, in that case you've gotta turn on particle cashe...systen performance drops but you are sure they are going to be there.

In the other hand there are many reasons for your particles not to render properly so you have to bring up more details about your scene.

ok i got the particles to show up using the hardware render buffer. but now how would i save the pic or make an animation using it? i dont see an option for it.
