View Full Version : Stained glass window
Turts 06-13-2005, 01:05 PM Can anyone help with regards to needing to make a stained glass window effect. I'm new to this BTW. I should explain that the window doesn't actually need to be seen - so I don't know if a projector map is viable. I do need volumetric light though - it will be cast onto a sword.
Thanks in advance

Then it should be very simple (In fact, I remember an old tutorial on the subject in an early max book). Just make a 2d image of your stainglass window, place it in the projector part of your light source (a spotlight preferably), make that light a volume light in the environment dialogue, probably reduce the density a bunch, and you'll get exactly what you're after.
