Here's the latest short lil' project i'm putting together. I'm currently in the texture phase (duh), and i'm focusing on getting all of the elements blocked in. I'm planning on putting the serious production hat on when everythings in place. So far, i've put maybe 5 hours into it. Probably less. Critique is welcome.

Looks cool so far, really nice job with the textures.

There are only two things that i would change
1- make the lion's eyes red instead of green if you are going for the spooky look
2- make the curtains in the windows a darker purple

otherwise it looks great

Are you the same Steve Allen I worked with at Microsoft?

Nice mansion, but it dosn't really look like a mansion sized builiding. The doors and windows are at a scale that make it look like a little building. I like the organic sculpting that you have going on though, the whole thing looks like it could be animated. The front has all the detail... will you be able to walk around it?

The curtains look painted on the windows, how about putting those on cards, just a bit back from the windows, to get some paralax?

The one and only, Buddy! To tell you a secret looks left and right I just called it a mansion, because I really didnt have a building type it fit. Just a fun little stylized thingamajig for the portfolio.

I added a few more things, and i'm going to continue to do so. I've only applied mapping to the front, because, well, I havent gotten to the sides yet:)

What the heck have you been up to!?

I've been working at Valkyrie Entertainment in Pioneer Square. No more commuting to the east side! woo hoo! Most recently we've been creating sexy gals for the adver-game Mojo Master (http://www.mojomastergame.com/). I've been making boobs and clothes and hair jiggle with the flex deformer in Max, and cleaning up hella tons of motion capture. Pretty fun, though I'm about ready to get back to straight up modeling and animating.

I sent ya a PM, didja get it? I got yers.

Cant wait to see some more work, guy! Keep it coming.

You've been watching that disney haunted mansion movie haven't ya? LOL I really like the style semi warcraftish, but with a tad more realism. This is a good piece, whats next for it?

been slow going--ive been working on the overtime tip building a tiling building block level design system for our MMO, but i'll post the most recent screenshot in a few minutes. I've added a side-gable building, and i'm planning a rickety stairway up to an external balcony.

Word.

Here we go:

Oh, and Adam, I sent you a PM in return. I'll send email to you or something.

On your update, lose the columns on the corners. Architecturally, there is no reason for them and they really look out of place.

The tower looks really nice. I'd base it on the second floor and on a corner, probably a front.

Otherwise, looks good.

HAH. architecturally there's no good reason for any of it to even exist. I'll keep em on there until theyre textured, and if they help the building look interesting, they'll stick around. if not, I'll throw them away like a pair of ruined levis.

void,

flying buttressesssssss!! the pillars are a neat design but they are a lil too greek or roman..your mansion carries too many gothic qualities, buttresses helm roofs and ogee arches man. I'm liking it so far, and yeah keep em around until they're textured..also speaking of gothic...put in some gargoyles..GRRRRRRR.

Ok... done this a lot...

I think you could make it more spookier by making the roof of the building on the left a bit curvy. No other crits whatsoever, I just LOVE these buildings...

Oh Fo' sho! I just kept it real real simple and un - curvy right now so I can texture it without going bonkers. I'll definately warp the hell out of it when i'm done. :)
