The fact that you told it to save out ad.mov, but the one you're bringing in is actually called ad-c.mov makes me thing that it's actually rendered out two - a "-c" (colour) and a "-a" (alpha) (or maybe "-m" for matte)

In premiere, you should be able to bring on in as the alpha/matte for the other (although I've not used Premiere for a very long time, so I'm not sure exactly how you'd do this...)

I have run into this same problem. For some reason Adobe Premiere does not like QuickTime movies(with a compression scheme) as source footage, even though it has no problem rendering it. I have had problems interpreting QuickTime movies that I rendered from After Effects as well (I used animation compression). The way I worked around this is rendering uncompressed AVI or QuickTime. It takes alot of space, but you should not have any problems bringing it into premiere. I noticed in your original post the clips are only 5 and 10 seconds long. You should be okay with the uncompressed. Now, the QuickTime format supports Alpha channels and AVI does not. When you setup your render settings, make sure you choose None for compression and Millions+ for the color settings. The (+) is the Alpha channel. I know this works with After Effects and Combustion, but I am not sure with Premiere. Just experiment and see if it works for ya.

I hope this helps you.
