Hi all

Excuse the new thread, I'm on to my next problem with this project. The rough render has been sent to client for approval before I do the job properly.

The typo has been added. Typo spheres have 2 materials, one with nothing but alpha to make the spheres completely transparent, the other with red 'sale' type in the colour channel, 'sale' type in the alpha channel and some specular.

I've noticed that I can see the edges of some of the spheres in the visible lights (smoke), does anyone know whats's going on, and how to rectify this?

Here's the main image...

Just a hunch. You got your Ray Depth high enough under the render settings?

hi bunk

ray depth is 6, I'll increase it and see what happens

Hmm!

Upping the ray depth made no difference at all, I gave up at 48!

Any more ideas?

if you're using fresnel for the falloff you may find that you need to bring it in a little, so that it doesn't go so close to the edges, i usually find bringing it in by about a quarter does the trick (so that it's transparent from around 70 degrees, or even 60).

I'm not using any fresnel, the smoke effect is visible lights, s'cuse my ignorance if there should be fresnel somwhere
