Hello all, ive shot a footage using a digital camcorder, and i've put a cg character in the scene to interact with a real life actor, all i sgoing wel, but when i render, the cg character renders out very very crisp compared to the quality of the camcorder which is well, digital camcorder quality. How can i renrder the cg character to be the same quality as the digital camera, so it blends in with the live action footage loads better? Is there any plug-ins etc?
Many thanks for the help

i think what you might be looking for is something that is called "compositing"...

Hi there, yeah i know i can do it via compositing, but im asking can Maya do it without me having to splash out for After Effects etc?

doing it in after effects (or any other comp. software) is the best way to go. You could of course try and project a noise texture from your camera on your character, which would add a cam-look.
hope it works

But it's like using a knife to mow a huge cornfield, simply there are tools made to do that and they really do things like that very well and fast:)

Try rendering with motion blur.

Try rendering with motion blur.

Motion blur would give it a film look. If you have to, render to fields.. but this is. another story here.
Make a search for how to make a video looks like a film and you'll find out how a video looks.
Good luck.
