Have you tried it yet before asking? I have never done it with max yet, but the answer is yes. I bet it does.

nope MAX doesn't do it..how do i make animated gifs for my max animations without using something like ImageReady??? is there like a plug-in etc.. for this.. i mean there has to be an easier way then to render out each scene. :annoyed:

wow! it doesnt! thats just cheap. I can't believe it considering they promote it as a web and tv animation program. I'm a noob so sorry to mislead you originally. :)

btw, you can export a quicktime *.mov and Adobe imageready can import *.mov . So then all you need to do is save it as a *.gif from Imageready. You can also save a sequence of images from Max then import them and pathc them together and save in Imageready.

Render out sequence, use GIF construction set to compile. It even gives you a frame by frame control on framerate so if you need holds, you don't have to have multiples of the same frame. And the super compression crunches it all down very nicely. I've never used imageready or other packages to do ani GIF, mainly cause I've never needed to. I'm pretty sure it's shareware or it was last time I downloaded it (3 or so years ago) I think the company that makes it is called alchemy mindworks.
