Hey sup ppl. I know this sounds like a stupid question but how do i open mental ray? I have Maya 6.5 and for a while i was just using the Maya Software render but now I want to try mental Ray. I thought of just going to render globals and switch to Mental Ray. But it is not there and I know I installed and it is on my comp. Also is there any settings that i should change to make it better. THANks

open up the plug in manager and make sure the mayatomr plugin is loaded and set to autoload.

yeah it'll appear in the render globals pulldown menu if the plugin is loaded. Otherwise it won't be available.

Also, try using mitchell anti aliasing settings for crisper images. Its a bit slower though
